regarding the GTalk installation problem, It&#039;s better to follow this procedure:

1) Exit Gmail.
2) Go to Start -&gt; Run, and enter this command: &quot;%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Google Talk Plugin&quot; (note: this is 
for XP, the path may be slightly different on Vista) 
3) An Explorer window will open. Delete the file 
&quot;googletalkplugin_port&quot;. 
4) Log back into Gmail.
