The Maldives has remained the most popular destination in the Kuoni Longhaul Report, despite not allowing non-Muslims to be married there.

Kuoni head of product Wendy Kenneally said the destination maintained its position in the annual report, which lists the operator’s top-selling destinations, as couples can renew their vows there. It is also the operator’s most popular destination with honeymooning couples.

Reethi Rah resort in Maldives is the only One & Only property in Maldives (Five Star Resort) now. Earlier, Kanuhura resort was also a property of One and Only. Reethi rah resort is located in North Male’ atoll and has about 130 villas. You need to travel about 45 minutes by sea boat to reach the resort from the Male’ International airport.

The room facilities of One & Only Reethi Rah includes, satellite Television, telephone, private bathroom, coffee maker, high speed internet and almost everything that you will expect. You can find sports facilities like scuba diving, wind surfing etc.

Reethi Rah is shaped like an octopus and has about 6kms of coastlines. The rooms are comparatively expensive than other resorts in Maldives, but you will find it worth spending.

I just took a small video of the room where I was staying during my last visit. This is just a simple room, you will find more facilities in other suits and water villas.

Last week my trip was to Velighandu Island Resort, a four star resort in the Maldives. The transfer was at 08:20 hours at the Maldivian Air Taxi counter. Myself and Stephen started from Male’, the capital of Maldives taking the 8:15 dhoni.

The resort had just re-opened after renovation. The complete island was renovated and still some work was going at the staff area. The resort was reopened to the guests only about a month back. I had been to the this resort couple of times and this was my first visit after renovation.

The beaches at Velighandu are beautiful. Velighandu Island resort has one of the best beaches in the Maldives and is famous for the sandbag. I will be travelling to One & Only Kanuhura, one of the best resort in Malidives on 25th Feb this month. I will be back with the pics and video’s of my visit.
