RSS feeds are very popularly used to aggregate blog posts or news using different RSS readers like Google Reader. There are two options, you can allow your reader to read the full article using the RSS feed or force the reader to visit your blog to read the complete article.

You can navigate to Settings->Reading from your Wordpress Blog admin panel and set it there as shown in the picture above. There are disadvantages and advantages of setting it partial or full. If you set it full, then the chances of the reader to come to your blog to read the article will be less, so if you set it to partial or summary, the reader may get annoyed and decide to unsubscribe to the RSS feed. But my thoughts are if you have great posts in your blog, then the visitor will come to your blog to read your blog posts. I have previously written a post describing the methods to monetize your blog from the RSS feeds which can take care of your blog earnings without the visitor coming to your website or blog.

Google Adsense is now enabled for RSS feeds which can monetize your RSS feeds and other option is to use MaxBlogPress to increase your sales from your RSS Readers and make money from your RSS Feed readers

Adding sponsored links which is added up to the post RSS feeds will be helpful in more clicks and sales. I am using Oiopublishers to serve ads on my blog along with Google Ad Manager. Usually only the post content is visible in the RSS feeds, but with this, the content variable is modified and sponsored links or ads can be added.

You can modify the link source by setting the value to the variable $aftercontent

A simple function that I had used in the Translation Plugin, this could be your use. This is a PHP function which can get you the URL of the page being visited.

I am sure some of you have faced this problem of entering a number like “023423423” in an excel sheet and it will automatically change to “23423423”. The zero goes of automatically. What to be done? In fact the cell takes this as number and removes the zero prefix. So you need to tell the cell that its not number but a text.

First you need to edit the cell properties, but pressing the ctrl + 1 key and in the number tab, select text

Click ok and you will find that the number is the same that you have typed

Vista users might have come across the problem of resolution being changed when they either set the system or their Laptop to Hibernate or to sleep mode. When I used this my screen resolution would change from 1280 x 800 to the lowest one and every time I had to change it manually.’

I searched through different forums, and got the solution which has worked for me. Some solutions were to change the registry value, but I could not find the registry values in my laptop registry.

Finally from the Microsoft forum I got a solution which worked. After doing this I tried by putting my laptop to sleep mode and then Hibernate, both the problems are sorted out

Solution for the problem of resolution being changed when put to sleep mode or Hibernate

Go to command prompt – run as administrator

If you run as a user you will get this error

You need to run as an administrator.

Just search for command and you will find command prompt listed, right click on that and type

powercfg -h on

Hibernate or put your system to sleep and try. This should solve the problem

Other solution which did not work for me, but worked for many others is by editing the registry values

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video]

Change the value of LidBehavior From 11 to 10 (Hexadecimal)

Other option is to update the device driver of your Monitor

I have been facing problem installing a network printer on my laptop which is run on Windows Vista. When ever I try to install , I get a message that the printer spool is not running, restart the machine and try again.

I have got the solution for this.

Go to start->Right click on Computer, then select Manage and then in services- select

Once you click on the Manage menu, you will get the the following wind

Then click on the services shown on the left sidebar. and select printer spool

Click on the start link or restart link to start the printer spool and try installing. For me it failed for the first time, but worked the second time

If you are moving back home from Maldives to India, then you will be having lots of luggage and its not advisable to carry along with you. The best way is to send through Cargo. The procedure is very simple and the cost is very less.

First get your things packed well in boxes and count the number of boxes

Then go to Cyprea Travels in Male’ who are the authorized agents for Air India Cargo and tell them the number of boxes and the destination details. They will give you labels for the number of boxes you have.

Next you need to take all your goods to the Male’ International Airport cargo and get it weighed and get clearance from Customs and NSS. Then again from the Island aviation office you need to fill up a form and then come back again to Cyprea and make the payment according the weight. Then again you need to go back to the Cargo and hand over the Airway bills. You will get a copy of the airway bill. Usually the next day, the goods to be sent to the destination.

In today’s world most of us have a very busy schedule and we often feel that 24 hours a day is not sufficient to complete our daily work. We can try to sort out this time issue by planning our day and prioritizing our tasks. You need to spend time for your work, which can be official related to your full time job, personal tasks or jobs, time for yourself, time for your family, social activities, time to do some exercise to keep yourself healthy and fit and very important, sleep.

Official work or full time job

Many individuals, including me, who have very responsible posts and who do not have a fixed working hours face the problem of allocating time for their personal work or anything other than regular job. What I mean by personal work is for example, you have a blog and you need to do some posts or spend some time reading the comments and replying to them, you need to allocate some time for this everyday. This is again very important

sleep

Very important, make sure that you sleep at least 6-8 hours a day. You need to make sure that you have sufficient sleep. So its again left up to you to decide how many hours do you need to sleep, but make sure that you sleep the same number of hours every day. Some people are comfortable sleeping 5-6 hours and some 7-8 hours. I sleep 6-7 hours a day but sometime I am not able to do this, which really spoils my day. When I do not have my regular sleep, I have problems with my appetite, memory and concentration. Its like restarting a computer, when you sleep and wake up, you feel fresh and can work more efficiently. Sleep is very important for health and should be treated with high priority.

Health

Health is something which you should take care even if you feel that you are healthy and you do not have any disease. To be healthy, you need to keep your body fit, do exercise regularly, go for a walk, have regular fitness checkup. You need to find time for this and should be treated as a high priority task. If you are not healthy, then there is no point in working hard and making money. I had read an article which was written by a businessman who is now at the retirement age. He has been working whole his life and earning lot of money. He did not have time keep himself fit, now he has money but he is suffering from all sorts of health problem. Money is important, but without good health, you cannot make use of the money you have. Make money and make sure that you are using the money for you, for improving your lifestyle.

I just discussed some factors related to planning your day and giving priority to your personal, official, social needs. Prioritizing all these needs are left up to you, but you should keep in mind that all these are basic needs to keep ourself healthy and fresh to keep continuing our life.
