If you are using Dhiraagu Mobile Service and travelling to Sri lanka then you have good roaming rate.

You should select Dialog as the operator when you reach Sri Lanka, you can make and receive calls at the rate of MRF 9.50 which is very cheep when compared to the usual roaming charges.

Now Dhiraagu has International roaming in pre activated in pre paid connections, but I don’t think many use this service as the International roaming rates are so high. I was using it earlier when I was travelling, but these days I try to avoid and use a local SIM card instead.

Dhiraagu has great offers for Ramadan. I was really surprised while reading the offers on their website. The competition between the telecom operators in Maldives has really blessed the subscribers of Dhiraagu. During Ramadan, you are eligible for winning loads of prices, cash price if you are lucky, free wifi usage, eligible for winning MRF 100,000 if you recharge or reload for more than MRF 100 for pre-paid subscribers, using GPRS, free credit if you reload on Fridays and lot more. Check it out yourself. Services like  checking the menu of a restaurant, prices of vegetables, recipes.

Dhiraagu has permanently reduced the rate of new prepaid connection from MRF 99 to MRF 50 which includes a talk time of MRF 20. This is something useful. Recently Dhiraagu had announced a special rate from International call to India, Bangladesh and sri Lanka. The international calls to India is very low as compared to calling from India. When I was in India last month, I used a Vodafone connection and did some call to Maldives. The rates are much higher and the billing was per minute. For example if you make a call from India for just 25 seconds, you need to pay for 1 minute and its around INR 9.00

Dhiraagu has announced a special rate for International calls i.e Mrf 1.99 per minute to India, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia during Ramadan. This I feel is the lowest rate offered till now and you do not need to use 019 code, but 00 + the country code. This offer is available for 24 hours a day during Ramadan.
