Saw a news on BBC stating that Gmail is down, but I was able to access without any problem. Seems that its not fully down, but in some part of the world. There are 113 million Gmail Users.

I use Windows Live Writer to do all my blog posts, but today it started giving me an error and closes off. I did not install any new programs or plugins for windows live writer. I tired reinstalling, but no luck.

I have been using Windows Mobile for some time and been enjoying the great features. Recently I got an iPhone, which is something very new to me. I was really surprised to note that iPhone does not support application wide clipboard feature.

Suppose you want to copy an URL from the browser and paste it on an SMS, its not possible in iPhone. Its very embarrassing to type the website links or something which is case sensitive. I cannot understand why iPhone developers have ignored this feature. I am sure that we can use the iPhone without this, but its something which is very important for a productive use. You cannot expect a person who is using iPhone to note down something and then type it, suppose its a long URL or something else. Every user will surely miss this feature and its should be a standard feature for iPhone. I am sure that the developers will add this feature very soon.

There are some 3rd party applications which has this clipboard feature, but it is useless when you want to copy something from different application and paste it somewhere else.

Some third party application which can be found at the iPhone App Store are

1. MagicPad
2. iCopy
3. OpenClip

But none of these are application wide copy paste tool and cannot replace the custom Copy Paste feature. Some interesting standard features that I missed in Windows mobile but it iPhone its standard feature like generating Snapshots in iPhone, rearranging home icons are great features.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium on my Dell XPS M1330 and very often face wireless connectivity problem at my home. It works excellent at my office, but when I go home, recently I find connection with only Local access and no Internet connection.

One of the reason may be the signal is very week as the ADSL Router is in a different floor. I use a Wifi Antenna to boost the signals and it was working fine till last weak.

While Googling I could find that the Wifi connection with Vista is a common problem

I regularly use Dreamweaver for working on  the files on my server. I was facing a problem of related to the saving of Remote Information, the server login details. Every time when I need to connect to the server for editing the files, I need to go to the Manage Sites and enter the login information, even though I opt for saving the login information ( a check box is provided to save the login information).

Vista users might have come across the problem of resolution being changed when they either set the system or their Laptop to Hibernate or to sleep mode. When I used this my screen resolution would change from 1280 x 800 to the lowest one and every time I had to change it manually.’

I searched through different forums, and got the solution which has worked for me. Some solutions were to change the registry value, but I could not find the registry values in my laptop registry.

Finally from the Microsoft forum I got a solution which worked. After doing this I tried by putting my laptop to sleep mode and then Hibernate, both the problems are sorted out

Solution for the problem of resolution being changed when put to sleep mode or Hibernate

Go to command prompt – run as administrator

If you run as a user you will get this error

You need to run as an administrator.

Just search for command and you will find command prompt listed, right click on that and type

powercfg -h on

Hibernate or put your system to sleep and try. This should solve the problem

Other solution which did not work for me, but worked for many others is by editing the registry values

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video]

Change the value of LidBehavior From 11 to 10 (Hexadecimal)

Other option is to update the device driver of your Monitor

I was facing some problem with my Dell XPS M1330. Very often when I boot my laptop, I get a blue screen error with a reason that the Hard drive was not found and I had to many time use the system restore feature to use my laptop again.

I sorted this out, but going to the Bio’s set up.

1. First thing I did was to disable Flash memory Cache
2. Then changed the hard drive interface from AHCI to standard

Now I did not find this error. Hope the problem is sorted out

If anybody has a real solution other than the above, please post it here

I just downloaded the latest version of Firefox and was using it. I went to the Google Adsense website to check the stats and the first message that I got was

This shows that the certificate used is for Google.com, then I went ahead

I thing Google should sort this issue out

I have been using two ad slots with Image ads on a page with Google Adsense. I see most of the time that the ad served is for the same product. For example you have 4 placements (Maximum allowed according to the Google Adsense TOS). Two text ads and two image ads of different sizes. Mostly the two image ads displayed are of the same product. Have you ever seen this kind of problem?
