Who does not know the name Shiney Ahuja, the well-known face that we have seen in some of the hit films like “life in a Metro” , “Gangster” to name a few and for his splendid acting has been charged of raping his maid .What a shame!. According to the reports he has allegedly raped his maid whom he hired one and a half month ago in between 1pm to 3 pm on 15th of June when there was no one at home. According to the 19 year old maid Shiney asked the girl for a glass of water and when she went to his room Shiney locked the room and raped her. He also allegedly threatened the maid not to disclose the matter to anyone. However, it was around 5 pm to 6pm that the 19 year old girl came out of the house crying when neighbors asked her about what has happened, she told them the incident. She also narrated the incident to her kin and relatives.

It was around that time that the relatives of the allegedly raped girl decided to report the matter to the police. So they went to the nearby Oshiwara police station to file a complaint of rape against Shiney Ahuja around 7 pm that evening. After the complaint has been launched the police went to Ahuja’s house at around 8 30 pm that night and brought him to police station for inquiry. The police asked Ahuja several questions from 9 pm to 2 am at night where Ahuja is said to have emotionally collapsed and broke down to tears and accepted the crime.

The allegedly raped girl was then sent to hospital for examination where swabs has been taken from her private parts and sent for investigation. However Shiney Ahuja was arrested at around 4 25 am under Indian Penal Code sections 376 (rape), 342 (wrongful confinement) and 506 (death threat) and has been put into custody for four days .The actor’s flat has been sealed for few days for forensic investigation which will handed over to the family once the investigations were done. Shiney Ahuja’s wife has been reportedly stated and believes that her husband is innocent and it is a well planned act to defame the actor.

Police is still interrogating the 36 year old actor and he is said not to co-operate with the officials. Shiney has been seen to have been praying to GOD in silence in court, but will his Prayers be heard? Unfortunately according to the latest news medical reports confirmed that the girl has been forced for sexual activity .

So, what do you think where is our human conscience is heading to? There has been several instances of celebrities performing illicit activities with helpless and the needy. What forced Shiny to take such a step when he is happily married? What do you think how will it affect the career of the star? What will be the outcome of the trial? Will he ever be punished or will he escape like many of the stars who have managed to do so in past?Lets wait and see!

Amitabh Bachchan has been conferred with Honorary Doctorate from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. After the recent attacks on the Indian students in Australia, he is in a dilemma whether to accept the honor. He is very upset with the racist attack on the innocent Indian students studying in different universities in Australia. Amitji on his blog has asked his readers to help him decide to take a decision. There were above 500 comments on this post when I visited just now and the response were mixed, some say yes he should accept as its not the fault of the entire country, but he should show his protest by mentioning this in his speech at the University. Some says he should not.

My opinion – Yes he should accept it as I was watching this topic closely during these days. Some people who had studied in Australia says that they did not find anything like this in the past and it was a very safe country promoting a multicultural and multilingual society. These kind of attacks were started recently by some elements. Its not something which every Indian has to face or every Australian treats Indian badly. There are good and bad people everywhere in this world. Even India has people who brings shame to us which doesn’t mean all the Indians are same. So I feel Mr Bachchan should accept this aware and use the opportunity to address the world and make it very clear that we Indians are very much un-happy with such acts. We have about 90,000 Indian students studying in Australia and its a big revenue for them. We Indians should be given the respect we deserve.

Resul Pookutty has won an Oscar for the film Slumdog Millionaire at the 81st Academy awards for Sound mixing. He has worked for films like Ghajani, Amu, Sawaariya, etc. He is the third Indian to win an Oscar Award. Pookutty is from Kerala and and above that he is an Indian. I congratulate him for this great achievement and wish him more Oscars for his future.

Slumdog Millionaire has bagged 8 Oscars from the 10 nominations, that’s a great achievement, great job done by Danny and his team. A R Rahman has won 2 Oscars which is another great achievement for Rahman after the Golden Globe Award. I would not like to forget about Pinky who is the star of a 40-minute documentary about Smile Pinky by American filmmaker Magan Mylan which has been nominated for Best Documentary and won the Oscar.

Abhishek Bachchan is trying to break a world record of maximum visits to different cities for film promotion in 12 hours. He is trying to visit 6 cities in 12 hours and doing the promotional campaign for Delhi-6 his latest film.

He is trying to break the record of   German actor Jorgen Vogel and Daniel Brhl who attended five events in five cities within 12 hours. His plan is to visit Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Chandigarh, Baroda and Mumbai in less than 12 hours. He started the visits today. I wish him all the best

A.R. Rahman appeals to a wide of variety of people for different reasons. Every creation of him proves that he has the ability to create songs that could very well be his key to a crossover hit and start of a bid for world domination.
He was called by different names – Mozart of Madras, John Williams of India, Musical storms, etc by different crowd. A.R. Rahman, music maestro, who brought the pride of Golden Globe and the dream of the Oscars to the India’s doorsteps for the film “Slumdog Millionaire“, which tells the story of an Indian boy from the Mumbai slums moves from the rags to riches, very much resembles to the life of the Mozart of Madras.

A.R. Rahman is the first Indian to receive a Golden Globe for the Best Composer. He won BAFTA for the Best Music, which is a British Award Equivalent to Oscar. The International Press Academy Satellite Award for Rahman for the Best Score Award for “Slumdog Millionaire”.

A.R. Rahman (Allah Rakkha Rahman)  born in a Tamil Hindu family to R.K. Shekhar, a Malayalam music composer and arranger, on the 6th January, 1967. He followed Hinduism till 1989, named as A.S. Dileep Kumar and converted to Islam.

A.R. Rahman’s journey to the Golden Globe Award and to the nomination for the Oscar 2009, started from his very childhood. An interview with Vanitha, a Malayalam fortnightly magazine, it is written in that once he walked into the studio with his father at the age of 4, he played a song in a Harmonium. By seeing his performance, the then music director Sudharsan covered the harmonium with a sheet and asked him to play the same song again and he had a excellent performance on that day. The same A.R. Rahman has shared stage space with the musical geniuses like Ustad Zakir Hussain, M.S. Viswanathan, etc.. and played with Michael Jackson in Munich, Germany for “Michael Jackson and Friends Concert” in 1999.

A.R. Rahman’s musical journey starts at the age of 11, by joining the troupe of music meastro Illaya Raja as a key boardist. At 16, started scoring music for advertisement jingles. Eventually he obtained a scholorship to the Trinity College of Music, London and graduated in Western Classical Music. In 1992, he got an entry into the film world through a Tamil movie “Roja”, directed by Mani Ratnam. It was his big break because his debuted movie won him Rajat Kamal Award for the Best Music Director at the National Film Awards and 3 more after that and a Padma Shri from the Government of India. In the same year he began, Panchathan Record Inn, his own music recording and mixing studio.

A.R. Rahman gained considerable notice in Japan with the success of the Tamil film “Muthu”. He is debuted in the Bollywood with the Ram Gopal Varma’s “Rangeela”. He composed an album “Vande Mataram” on the occassion of the India’s 50th Independence Day. In 2006, he launched a music label “K M Music”.

A.R. Rahman won Mauritius National Award and Malaysian Award i 1995, Honorary Award from Standford University for contribution to Global music in 2006. He also won 6 Awards at the Tamilnadu State Film Awards for the Best Musical Category and 11 Awards each for his score at the Film Fare Awards and Film Fare Awards South.

Clearly, Rahman has found a channel for his creativity that meshes with his spiritual beliefs, thats his Music. I just got a chance to watch much awaited Ghajini. I had seen the Tamil version earlier, but did not have the feeling of seeing a seen movie. Even though its a remake, its really worth seeing.

Amir has done a great job. He has worked very hard for this movie especially building his body. He spent more than an year to change his body for this movie. If you have not seen this movie, you are missing it.
