Male’ the Capital city of Maldives is really changing. For the past 2 years we have been noticing new building coming up very fast. The old small buildings are demolished and multi-storey buildings and mushrooming.
Today I was walking from my office to my home and I just thought of taking a few snaps of the new constructions going on.
All the pictures above are from Henveru where I stay
The construction in Male’ goes very fast and most of the labourers are from India and Sri Lanka. Mostly the newly constructed buildings are at least 10 storied. There is lack of space in Male’ and population is growing very high these days. Rents have gone up and before a building is completed, it is either leased or hired by somebody.
