Pazhassi Raja, known as the Lion of Kerala,  is a sweeping historical epic about the legendary hero of Kottayam Padinjare Kovilakam who rallied Kurichiyar natives for a guerilla war against the British rule. The movie is progressing on a slow pace than expected. The movie is introducing the viewers to Pazhassi being ousted out of his palace by the British army, on the behest of his own uncle. That incident is a good example of how the British looted India.

The movie takes back to 18th Century and Pazhassi Raja’s was one of the voices to raise against the British Rule in India.I saw this movie when I went to Kerala on 18th October, 2009. The movie is released in 4 theatres in Trivandrum simultaneously but still it is running in fully packed theatres. The same thing is repeated in Bangalore also. The movie is a great success. What I felt when I was watching the movie was the script made Pazhassi Raja, a very small figure. The real prominent figures in the movie are roles played by Sarath Kumar, Manoj K Jayan and Padma Priya.

The Sound is not fully exploited in theatres since the theatres in Trivandrum is not fully equipped to utilize the sound effects of Rasul Pookutty and even he expressed his great concern over this.

Overall, it is good movie and you must not miss to watch this.
