Keeping in view the state elections in Karnataka and Kerala, the Congress has dramatically increased the representation of the two states in the Central ministry. Although the Congress got only six seats in Karnataka, the national party has allotted three Cabinet berths to Mallikarjun Kharge, who will be sworn in on Thursday, former chief ministers S.M. Krishna, minister of external affairs and Veerappa Moily
