New President Of Maldives to Assume Office on 11th Nov 2008

image The new President of Maldives President Elect Mohamed Nasheed will be officially start at the Presidential office on the 11th of November 2008. He has decided not to stay at the Presidential Palace, Theemuge, as he had promised to convert that to an University. New cabinet ministers are announced.

There are also rumours that New Maldives team , Dr. Hassan Saeed has quit the MDP led Alliance due to differences over the forming of President elect ‘s cabinet.

The existing President, Gayoom is preparing to leave the office. He is meeting all the top authorities and thanking them for the support they had provided during his term. Yesterday, he even met the Indian High commissioner and the Bangladesh High Commissioner. The transition work is going smooth and is expected to completed as the new Government will be formed on the 11th November.

The citizens of Maldives has very high expectation from the new President. Hope to see some changes very soon.
