image Most of the top tech companies are forced to go for layoffs due to the global recessions. Cutting the jobs and keeping the payroll low is the only solution at this stage. IBM says the cuts are an effort to watch cost HP is also laying 24,600 jobs which is about 8% of their work force. They have about 3,20,000 employees.

SAP, the worlds biggest business management software maker will layoff about 3,000 employees and freeze salaries this year.

Motorola has fired 500 employees from its units in Bangalore and Hyderabad. According to Motorola, approximately 4000 jobs will be effected this year.

STMicroelectronics NV, the largest manufacturer of semiconductors, in Europe plans to cut down 4,500 jobs this year.

More and more layoffs announced everyday. Yesterday, there was an incident which really was shocking in the US.
