Shaheen was given a caesarean section on Tuesday after a scan revealed her baby was dead. It is unclear whether the baby had died before or after she had reached ADK, the largest private hospital in the Maldives.
Addressing press today, Ahmed Afaal, the managing director of the hospital, said two expatriate nurses were fired following the death of Shaheen’s baby, but did not specify why.
