Ill Effects of Blogging on health

BloggingRecently a IIT in Bombay put some restriction on using of Internet at the students hostel. The reason behind this was the students being less active in participating in sports activities. We can find lots of youngsters who just stick to their computer for long hours and they never get time to go out for other activities like sports or workouts. This really will effect the health and its a real concern.

In my case also the condition is the same. I spend more than 12 (sometimes more than that) hours a day sitting in front of my laptop. Some people do blogging as profession and some for fun. What will be the future?

You will see everybody hanging on their computer with some blog posting jobs or reading others post. This is really going to effect the health of the coming generation. Every human being needs to get involved with the society and should breath fresh air. How can this happen if we need to blog for more than half a day?

Ill Effects of blogging

  • Strain on eyes, keep looking on your computer monitor for half a day, what will be the status of your eyes?
  • You need some time to keep you physically fit, do you have time for that?
  • Do you get involved in social activities?

These are some points that concerns me? Have you ever thought of this?

I found this about the good effects of blogging to health

I will never say that blogging is bad or it will spoil any body’s life, but we need to keep some factors in mind that blogging also has ill effects. Some studies very clearly reveal that blogging strengthens your knowledge and its good for your brain.

Research using the Lemelson-MIT Invention index found that invention is best fostered in solitude (66%); yet other research has shown the beneficial effects of brainstorming with a community of intellectual peers. So blogging may combine the best of “working by yourself” and “working with other people.” Bloggers have solitary time to plan their posts, but they can also receive rapid feedback on their ideas. The responses may open up entirely new avenues of thought as posts circulate and garner comments.

Their conclusion: “it looks as if blogging will be very good for our brains. It holds enormous potential in education, and it could take societal communication and creative exchange onto a whole new level.”

Its left up to you to allot a time that you spend in front of your computer?
