Tips to increase Google Adsense Earnings

by kishore on February 25, 2009

google_adsense_earningsGoogle Adsense is the most popular and widely used advertising program. I know how difficult it is to get advertisers for a blog when it is a new blog with very low traffic. Even blogs with high traffic find it difficult to find high paying advertisers. Google adsense pays for the clicks generated, which means that you get paid only if any visitor clicks on the ads placed on your blog so naturally you need to get your visitors to click on the Ads. You should always keep in your mind that you should not do anything to tell the visitor to click on any ads. The visitors should click on the ads only by his / her own wish. How do we provoke the visitor to visit your Google Adsense ads?

I have some tips which I have understood analyzing my blog and experimenting with different ways complying to the terms and conditions of the Google Adsense Program.
Ad Blending
Make the ads look similar to your blog theme. You have this option in your Google Adsense account setting. You can change the font color, link color, background color, rounded corner and now we can select the font also to match the theme blog.
Location of the Ad
I cannot suggest a particular location because, all themes are different, but I would suggest that you place a linked unit below the heading of your blog post, which should work great. I have this placement with the highest eCPM. The advantage of Google Adsense is that you get the ads related to the content of the post.
Tell Google Adsense bot where is the content of the page
I have seen problems in many blogs which do not get content related ads. This could happen when there are lots of other widgets or text confusing the bots about the actual content of that particular page. To resolve this issue, Google Adsense has an option to tell the bot about the actual content by a tag

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->
You content here
<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Track the performance with Channels
In the Google Adsense control panel, you can find the option of channels. You need to identify which location is working well for you and for this, create channels to track your location and add the channels when you create a new ad. This can help you to find out the performance of every location and decide to keep it or to change it to a new location

Google adsense is the best advertising solution for blog as you get related ads, automated ad serving, no need to find advertisers and its from Google. Make sure that you comply with all the terms and conditions of the program or your Adsense account can get banned.
