There are situations that you many not be able to look into your blog, do new posts, reply to comments or do the necessary maintenance and this often results in fall in revenue. Out of all these mentioned above, I feel the most important is keeping your blog updated with new posts and give it a fresh look for all your regular visitors. You should always be able to be consistent in updating your blog.

Don’t Neglect your blog or it could be like this – Image Source

Schedule Posting

If you are planning a vacation or travel, there are some options open like doing schedule posts in advance so that your regular reader and feed subscribers don’t feel that you are not doing anything on your blog. You should always keep some reserve draft posts which can be used during such situations.

You can have a trusted buddy who can do your comment moderation, or some posts during your absence.

I have noticed that my traffic falls when I do not have fresh posts on my blog, but as I am not a full time blogger, I don’t care much on such situation, but I see that it takes some time for me to get that traffic back, so its always better to handle such situation wisely.

Blogging from Mobile Devices

If you are traveling you can also use your mobile devices connected to 3G or Wifi to do new posts or do comment moderation etc, which may be practically bit difficult, but I have been doing this from my iPhone, even we can post images.

To conclude, do not neglect your blog for any reason. It will continue to give you traffic even if your don’t look at it for a year, but the growth may go down. If you are a professional blogger, you should treat this as your full time job and work very hard to keep things going as it goes everyday even if you are enjoying your vacation. There are many tools that can be used to keep your blog working 24×7. Please let me know your thoughts and experiences on this.
