Influence of the blog design on Google Adsense CTR and Pay per Click

I have been experimenting with lots of factors that effect the Google Adsense earnings and recently you might have noticed that I had to change my blog theme twice. I experienced a tremendous fall in Google Adsense Earnings after I changed my theme. Its very clear that the design or theme of your blog effects a lot on the Click Through rate (CTR) of your Adsense ads. I also noticed that the eCPM had some fluctuation which is something interesting.

Now let me explain how the Cost Per Click in Google Adsense Work. Suppose you have multiple Ad units of Google Adsense, the Ads with higher bid are displayed first and goes in to the lower paying ads towards the end of the page. Now the important factor that you need to know is how your theme is displayed. There are themes which goes from header to sidebar to content or it can happen any way the theme is coded. You may see an Ad Unit on top right of your blog page, but there would be ads in the content as well, which would be below the top right ad, but we need to note that the ad displayed inside the content pane is the first one fetched from the Adsense server and that would be the most highly paid Ad and not the one shown on the top right. Hope you understood what I want to explain.

Now you need to check, which ad slot location is receiving maximum number of clicks or the best CTR, that should be the ads which needs to be fetched first and you need to maintain the order according to your CTR.

Just try this and come up with your experience
