200910101222.jpg This post is for people who use Google Adsense and are thinking about the reasons that could affect the earnings through Google Adsense. I have been using Adsense for some time now and seen ups and downs in my Adsense earnings. The Click Through Rate (CTR) /eCPM/Earnings per click keeps fluctuating and I never get into control of these things. I have been doing some research on this to check out what could be the reasons that I am not earning well. But I see my Adsense earning have a relation with my traffic. I am trying to summarize experiences of different experts who have been using Google Adsense in this post which could be of your help.

Geological location of your visitors

If you have used Google Adwords, you might have noticed that you can control your ads to be displayed only to visitors from a particular country. For example an advertiser who is paying well wants his ads to be served only to the US visitors and you have most of the traffic from India, then you will not be able to display those ads which are very high paying. I find most of the high paying ads are from the US and we just cannot depend on localized traffic.

Topic of your Blog

You should be aware that the ads are served relevant to the content of the web page and if you have pages on topic which do not have competition, then the bid rates will be less and you will be paid less for the clicks generated. You can do some research and find out the topics which are very highly bid to satisfy yourself. I do not mean to say that if you have a blog on recipes, don’t start posting on Forex to increase your blog revenue.

Design of your blog

Easy navigation, visibility are very important to keep your visitors with your blog. They should find your blog easy to understand and to navigate. It always advised to have a good professional template which takes care of the navigation factor.

Choosing the right Ad Format

I cannot say which format will work well for your blog. You will know that there are different adsense formats like the Adsense for Content, Search, linked units, Feeds, mobile. You should use the right format depending upon your blog design. Linked unit may work well for some and some may find the skyscraper working well for them. Its your job to experiment with different ad formats and select the best one for your blog at the right place.

Blending your ads

You need to blend the ads on your web page to attract the visitors. One good thing about Google Adsense is that it serves related ads, so you may find it easy to get a visitor click on the ad with the right blending technique.

Improving Google Adsense earning is a question which has different answers, but the answer to your question can be answered only you by your own experiments. I would suggest to keep track of your earnings using the channel option available and work accordingly.
