Links are of great importance on any website or blog. Linking to the right pages gives a better authority to your posts. Its always advisable to link to authority sites which could increase the credibility of your post. Recently I was going through some blogs are was studying the links given to the images. Usually by default the images in WordPress blogs are usually linked to the original image source, but I noticed that the images were linked to related blog posts of that blog. This was something of great interest to me. Many visitors may click on the images posted and could lead to another pageview from your own blog. If its a related post then that page should be of interest to that reader. Interlinking of posts with images could also be helpful in SEO point of view
Don’t Sell Links
Its always advised not to get into selling links. You will surely be caught by Google and other search engines as paid links are something which they hate. If you have no other choice than going for paid links for your blog revenue, then make sure that you use the rel=nofollow tag which the link buyer may not accept. Mostly links are purchased to get some pagerank juice.
