Reserve Bank of India has asked all banks in India who is operating ATMs not to charge any fee for the cash withdrawal using ATM and Debit card issued by other banks but still they can charge fee on withdrawal by using Credit cards and at ATMs located outside India. Thanks to RBI and it is a great relief to the common man since he does not have to shell out extra money for using ATMs of other banks. It is effected from today (01/04/2009). Normally the banks charged per transaction Rs. 20/- for using their ATMs by the customers of other banks.
