Former President of Maldives Ibrahim Nasir has passed away tonight at Singapore after prolonged illness. Maldives has declared a Holiday in respect of the former President. Ibrahim Nasir was become the first President of the Second Republic from 1968 to 1978.
He had done a lot of contribution for the development of Maldives like introducing Television, radio and re establishing the country’s sovereignty, from being a British protectorate to an independent state.
