In my last post regarding the reliability of opinion polls through SMS, I had mentioned the loop holes of this kind of polls. It has been found that lots of irregularities has happened in this poll.

One of the Dhiraagu user received about 600 acknowledgement messages “Thank you for your vote” before the poll had started. DRP has complained that more than 12,000 of their supporters voted for this and the results show only 2000. Lots of sims were purchased to support different candidates.

Such kind of polls are done to know the popularity of the candidates and not really the correct result. Most of the candidates competing for the Presidential election is against this poll and its stopped now
