Google Ad Manager is now enabled for all Google Adsense account by default. Earlier, Google Ad Manager was only through invitation. If you are having multiple sites and sell slots privately, then it would be of good use for you. Initially, you may find it bit complicated, but after you spend some time, it works excellent.

There are some interesting features that will really of good use for you. If you are not using it, just spend some time to activate and use it.

You will have to change all your Google Adsense code and insert new code for this to work. I will just explain how to start off with the Google Ad Manager.

Create Ad Slots

First you need to create Ad Slots which are the locations on your blog or website. You need to add information like the size of the Ad Slot and you can enable Google Adsense for this slot. If you enable Adsense for any slot, then if you have no ads booked for that slot, Google Adsense Ads will be displayed.

Create Placements

After you create Ad Slot, you need to create placements for every Ad slot. Every Ad Slot can have more than 1 Ad placements.

Add Products

Here you define different Ads with rates, like you can define a Ad Placement which can be sold to an advertiser. You need to mention the charges, type of charges, like CPM or CPC and other information

Add Advertisers

When somebody books an advertisement, you need to add that Advertiser to create campaigns. You can add information like the email Id, contact details address for advertisers

Add Orders

Once you add an Advertiser, you can add the order. While adding order, you need to select the placement for the order and other information

Add Line Items

In line item there are different types, like Exclusive ads, Premium Ads, Standard Ads, you can select the right one. You should understand the difference between these type before you select the right type. You should go through the help page to decide the ad type

Activate

After you create the creatives (Adding Images or code to display ad), you need to activate the order. You can decide the time to start the order and end the order

I have just given  a brief information about the Google Ad Manager to make you aware of this free service and if you are missing it. Please go through the help provided to work step by step. There are other Ad Managing Softwares which may be more simple for you to book ads. In Google Ad Manager, you need to create accounts manually for your advertisers.

For Google Adsense Users, when you insert two image ads on a same page, you will find that most of the time the ads shown are the same. This is something Google Adsense team should look into.

This happens when we select the option of image only. Its better to select, text for one and image for the other slot to avoid such ad serving. Today when I visited Amit’s Blog, I saw this and it really looks odd.

I just logged into my Google Adsense Account and found that now we can earn from youtube videos. You need to create a player with channels and code is generated and inserted to you blog. I am not aware of the earning potential from this system as I just started using the video units of Google Adsense. I read a post from Amit of Digital Inspiration that Google Adsense is enabled for RSS feeds, but I could not find the set up of that.

There are lots of Google Adsense  users who get their Adsense account banned and lose all the earnings due to click fraud. Let me first tell you the chances of getting your account restored is very lean but you should give it a try if you have not really clicked on your ads or if you are sure that you have used the program 100% according to the guidelines.

1. First reply to the email sent by the Google Adsense Team explaining that you have never clicked on the ads or if you have done so, explain how it happened accidentally or so. But let me tell you that Google will not ban your account if you just click once or twice by mistake on your ads. If you do so, just send an email immediately informing about the mistake
2. You may be getting a reply asking you to send your server log or any information related to the clicks or visitors. Many CMS like Joomla, Drupal has plugins which record the clicks, you can send them a copy of those reports
3. Just wait for their reply, if you are lucky, you account will be restored, or you need to search for Google Adsense Alternatives

Google uses time tested algorithms to check for click fraud looking into different instances. So never try to increase your revenue by clicking on your own ads or asking anybody to click on the ads.

Google Adsense has an option for earning from the search results other than banners and text links. I am not sure how many of us use it and what is the potential of earning from the Google Adsense search. To be frank, I was using this only on one of my blog and I did not get much revenue from this. Today I received an email from Google Adsense support team encouraging the use of the Search feature.

There are many new features that they have added and I feel that everybody should try this.

• Searching without leaving your website
• Improved indexing of your pages
• You can add up all your network sites to be searched for the results
• You can refine the searches with keywords
• You can select the page where the search results to be shown
• You can select the ad location where the Google Adsense results to be shown

You should NOT

• Add predefined words in the search box
• you should not create links to lead to search results
• You should not use any automated search quires to show results

I have been using two ad slots with Image ads on a page with Google Adsense. I see most of the time that the ad served is for the same product. For example you have 4 placements (Maximum allowed according to the Google Adsense TOS). Two text ads and two image ads of different sizes. Mostly the two image ads displayed are of the same product. Have you ever seen this kind of problem?
