The new President of Maldives President Elect Mohamed Nasheed will be officially start at the Presidential office on the 11th of November 2008. He has decided not to stay at the Presidential Palace, Theemuge, as he had promised to convert that to an University. New cabinet ministers are announced.
Mohamed Nasheed popularly known as Anni has been elected as the Next President of Maldives. He has bagged 54.04% of votes as per the provisional results of the Runoff Elections in Maldives.

Today the final and crucial election for the President of Maldives has started at 09.00am and will go till 08.30pm. The contestants are the President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom of Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party, DRP, Mohamed Nasheed, Anni of the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party, MDP.
