In my last post I had written about selling your blog space to advertisers. To sell, manage and track your blog advertisements, its very important that you have a good tool to manage it. Most of the bloggers today use Wordpress and I also use this excellent platform which is an opensource, very easy to use and very robust.

Installation of the Plugin
The installation of this plugin is very easy and well explained. Its almost like installing a normal Wordpress Plugin.
Different Banner Sizes
You can create almost any size of banners for your blog. You just need to go the settings and create the zones with the size you need to display and even set the number of banners to be displayed in rows and columns. You might have noticed the 125 x 125 banners in most of the blogs which are very popular these days and work well. You can create unlimited Advertising zones using this plugin and unlimited banners also.
You can set your inhouse banners when you do not have any slots sold.
Under every zone, you will find an option to set unlimited inhouse ads. You can even use Google Adsense code for this purpose. There are two good options which can set, which are “Fill the Gap” and “Included in Rotation”. “Fill the gap” works only when you do not have sufficient ads sold for that particular zone and “Include in the Rotation” works along with the sold ads. This feature is one the top feature of this plugin which helps your do your affiliate marketing using the vacant ad spaces.
Receive payment using PayPal
PayPal is the most popular online payment system. You can add your PayPal email id in the settings which will take care of your advertisement payments. You can set the rates of your banner in the Zone setting for the number of days that you would like to sell. The new beta version which I am using allows you to even set multiple rates for different number of days. You can opt for processing the payment after the ad is approved by you or pay before the ad is approved. This can be helpful to avoid ads which you would not like to display on your blog
Image Ads and HTML Ads
This plugin supports image ads as well as HTML code ads. The advertiser can upload the banner image when he purchases the ads.
Text Ads
You can also create text ads using this plugin. In text ads you have the Anchor text and the Description part. You can decide the length of the text ads to be displayed on your blog.
Enabling , Disabling Rel=nofollow tag
Its very important that you use rel=nofollow tag for text links and advertisements to avoid getting penalized by major search engines like Google by demoting the Pagerank. In the setting you can opt for this option. There is also an interesting feature where you can let this option to the advertiser by increasing the rate for advertisements without the rel=nofollow tag. I would advice to enable rel=nofollow if you care about search engine penalties.
Custom Advertisements
You can even create banners for downloadable products. If you are selling e-books then this could be of much use for you
Ad Server
You can even display the ads on a different website using the ad server code in JavaScript.
Notifications
You get notified by emails when there is a new purchase and the advertiser is also sent notification when the ad is going to expire or when the ad is approved to be served
Paid Post
You can even sell paid posts using this plugin. There are two options, one you write post for the advertiser and other is the advertiser submits the post. You can set different rates for these.
Inline Ads
Inline Ads can serve Video Ads, RSS feeds or Image banner ads. This will be displayed with the post. The other option is to sell links for specific keywords. You can set the rel=nofollow for the links and set the maximum number of links to per post
