Bandra Worli Sea Link to be Opened Tomorrow

bandra_worli_sealink-2The much awaited Bandra Worli Sea link to be inaugurated tomorrow (30th June 2009) by Sonia Gandhi after a long 9 years of start. This bridge was built spending about Rs 1,340 crore (340-million dollars) which is an eight-lane freeway will help cut the 40-minute journey between the suburbs of Bandra and Worli to just eight minutes. There will be a toll charge of Rs 50 for small vehicles like cars and Rs 75 for heavy vehicles for one way.

This bridge is 5.6-kilometres long and this project of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is being executed by Hindustan Construction Company. Designs and Project management is by M/s DAR Consultants

It has become the new landmark of Mumbai..Hey lets hope it helps in reducing the traffic in Mahim and Haji Ali areas..
